It is necessary to be still to converse clearly with God. One must withdraw from the tumult and confusion of life to draw near to the Divine.

About St. Gregory Orthodox Monastery

St. Gregory Orthodox Monastery is a house of prayer rooted in the ancient apostolic tradition of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.

Set in the quiet hills of Tehachapi yet within reach of Los Angeles and San Francisco, the monastery seeks to live the life of repentance, worship, and hospitality—lifting up unceasing prayer for the Church and the world.

Under the heavenly intercession of St. Gregory the Theologian, we strive to witness to Christ in both the stillness of the monastery and the life of the surrounding community.
